The Arbor detoxification program, managed by our physicians and nurses, is housed in a private area within the same large home as the residential treatment level of care. It is comfortable, quiet, and supportive, because we know this can be the most difficult part of deciding to quit using alcohol or drugs. We understand and we are here to help. The licensed professionals assist our clients by utilizing appropriate medications and highly developed techniques to ease their transition to abstinence.
Depending on the substances used prior to admission and ensuing medical assessment, the detox phase can last anywhere from one day to one week. We want to ensure that our clients are medically stable and physically and cognitively sound prior to fully engaging in the treatment program process.
The Arbor does not discriminate or establish obstacles for those willing to seek help and treatment. We will admit clients regardless of the medications they are currently taking. If clients are medically unstable and need a hospital level of detoxification, we have established a working relationship with a local provider and will supply transportation to The Arbor once clients are medically stable. The Arbor physicians and nurses will manage the weaning off process while facilitating physical, medical, and psychological assessments.
